Galileo's Controlled Drop From The Tower Of Pisa.

According to durable tradition, a young lecturer at the University of Pisa climbed a conveniently inclined structure and released two spheres of unequal mass over the same edge at the same instant. The compliance desk notes that the tower's lean was not his doing; he merely used the ungoverned tilt already present as fixed infrastructure.

The prevailing service contract of the era, authored by the vendor Aristotle, guaranteed that heavier payloads would reach ground-contact measurably sooner. This was a differentiated SLA: pay more mass, land first. Galileo's filing proposed the radical position that the SLA was fictitious and that both payloads would certify simultaneously.

The throw itself was minimal in effort and maximal in consequence. No harpoon, no thruster, no active guidance. The apparatus was gravity, unbilled and universally available, applied identically to both objects regardless of their invoiced weight.

The mass on the invoice, it turned out, had no bearing on the mass in the trajectory.

Observers reported that the two spheres struck the ground together, or close enough that the difference could be attributed to release timing rather than to any premium tier. The Aristotelian account, which had enjoyed roughly nineteen centuries of uninterrupted uptime, registered its first serious outage.

Historians caution that the demonstration may be more legend than logged event, and that Galileo's real work happened on inclined ramps where descent could be timed with instruments of the day. The desk accepts this. A parable, correctly modeled, is still a valid trajectory.

What survived was not the tower but the principle: absent air resistance, all objects fall at one rate. The universe, in effect, offers a single tier of service.

No apex overshoot, ground-contact certificate issued jointly to both payloads, and the governed force of gravity confirmed as vendor-neutral.
